With the international break over, it's back to work for the top
European leagues this weekend and the action should be great for the
American players across the pond. The biggest match of the weekend
involving an American is the table-topping battle between F.C. Twente
and PSV in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Oguchi Onyewu picked up a knock while on duty with the USA. It had to
have any major supporter of the big defender holding their breath as he
stumbled and looked very close to having another significant injury to
deal with during the Argentina match.

Though he didn't play in Nashville against Paraguay, Onyewu was moving
around just fine and seemed to be in good spirits heading into a very
important run of fixtures for Twente. Aside from facing league leaders
PSV on Saturday, Onyewu's side will have two matches against Span's
Villarreal in thier next four matches, so his fitness will probably be
tested pretty quickly.

Should Twente win on Saturday they will take over the top spot in the
league, so the match is well worth keeping and eye on and fans can do
just that on ESPN3.com at 12:45 pm EST.

Steve Cherundolo, who did not make the trip to the USA last weekend to
give a lingering injury a bit of time to heal, will help lead his
Hannover side against a league leader as well as they take on a Borussia
Dortmund team that basically has the league wrapped up. Despite not
having a chance to catch Dortmund, Hannover need points to stay in the
Champions League fight. Dortmund ran up four goals on the normally
steady Hannover backline last time out, so there's a big task in front
of Cherundolo and his men.

Saturday morning actually kicks off with a match between West Ham and
Manchester United on ESPN2 at 7:30 am EST. Jonathan Spector has been
seeing limited action for the Hammers, but it's always fun to watch
Chicharito Hernandez and United take the field.

If it's American action you're interested in, there is another early
morning option with Eric Lichaj and Leeds facing off again Robbie
Findley's Nottingham Forest at 7:40 am EST on Fox Soccer Plus.

At 12:30 tomorrow afternoon, Jermaine Jones and Blackburn will be tasked
with taking on Arsenal on the road. Not an easy job by any means, but
Blackburn are just the type of team that the Gunners tend to struggle
with. That match can be seen on Fox Soccer.

The late replay out of England is a special match for American fans as
Tim Howard and Brad Friedel face off. Two of the best American 'keepers
of all time going head to head should be exciting, especially
considering that the defenses in front of them have had some problems in
keeping them protected this year. There's also the added intrigue of
possibly seeing Michael Bradley on the pitch at some point.

The match will be on Fox Soccer at 5:00 pm EST, and of course you can

Sunday morning Clint Dempsey and Fulham will be taking on Blackpool on
Fox Soccer Plus at 8:30. The Cottagers really need points out of this
one. Sitting just two points up of Blackpool in the table, the loser of
this match might have some real relegation worries going forward.
